Church House, Hampshire Listed and Heritage

Emerson Willis Ltd has recently undertaken the complete refurbishment of the Grade II Listed Church House.

The property had been allowed to deteriorate for many years and so had serious issues with water ingress through the natural stone chimneys; this had caused extensive damage through damp penetration to the interior fabric of the building.

Stonework repairs were undertaken to the Victorian Gothic chimneys followed by replacement of the lead flashings and cladding and the clock tower with ornate nineteenth century wind-vane were completely refurbished.

All interior walls were re-plastered using traditional materials and techniques returning the property to its original condition.

Externally, damaged natural stone was replaced by re-facing it with carefully matched veneers and weak areas strengthened using a concealed resin bolt system.

The garden underwent complete landscaping including removal of an overgrown shrubbery and the construction of a patio area using reclaimed York stone.

We are currently working with the clients and conservation officer to design replacement steel casement windows.

Our team was also pleased to offer the client advice on interior finishes and colour schemes appropriate to the era that Church House was built in.
