High Road, Tottenham Listed and Heritage
Emerson Willis Ltd has recently undertaken the refurbishment project for THFC with the aim of providing Art Studio's and Workshops for a local Art Foundation. The foundation is well known for its dedication to promoting and supporting various art forms and crafts.
The project involves the conversion of two large Grade II Victorian houses, covering an area of approximately 700 square meters. The main objective is to create a number of 12 Art/Craft studios, along with retail and gallery spaces. This new facility will not only serve as a creative hub for artists and artisans but will also provide opportunities for the public to engage with and appreciate their work.
In order to achieve this, Emerson Willis Ltd started by conducting a thorough strip-out of the existing finishes. This involved removing any outdated or unsuitable materials in order to lay the foundation for the remodelling works. The remodelling phase itself included reconfiguring the internal layout to optimise the use of space and create functional and inspiring working areas. Also carrying out conservation repairs and enhancement of the heritage assets to protect the historic fabric and improve the physical appearance.
As part of the refurbishment, Emerson Willis Ltd also implemented strengthening and fireproofing measures to ensure the safety and security of the building. This involved structural improvements and the installation of fire-resistant materials and systems.
