Albion Square, London Residential & Leisure
Emerson Willis Ltd was pleased to be awarded the tender for re-modelling and extending this attractive period property in a traditional London square.
The basement and exterior area behind the property were excavated to increase the floor area of the basement and create an attractive courtyard garden accessed by new French doors on the lower level.
The basement had previously contained a small, dark kitchen and storage area. Following complete re-design a large, comfortable, modern kitchen was provided with a smart office area at one end.
A sitting room was created at the rear of the property at first floor level featuring full height French doors and a Juliet balcony.
Much thought was given to the works being carried out sympathetically to the original building with second-hand London stock bricks and york-stone paving being sourced.
The new windows at the front of the property were made in timber to replicate the originals and the windows and French doors at the rear were in dark grey polyester powder coated aluminium that perfectly complemented the yellow stock bricks.
New railings and gates installed to the property followed designs traditional to the street scene.
