The Willows, Lambourne End Residential & Leisure
Emerson Willis Ltd were delighted to be the main contractor for this exciting project in rural Essex involving the demolition of an existing dated bungalow and its replacement with a prestigious architect designed five bedroom property.
The Willows sits in a prominent position in a desirable rural location and the combination of the yellow stock brickwork, cedar cladding and full height glazed screens under a welsh slate roof brings together innovative modern design and empathy with the surrounding countryside.
Architect, Terence Wynn RIBA, introduced character to the interior with the use of a solid Wenge staircase and glazed floor to the minstrel’s gallery, as well as taking a modern approach to traditional large inglenook fireplaces. In keeping with the rural location we constructed a large feature fire open on two sides in the main living area.
A clever multi-level ground floor plan was designed to fully accommodate the sloping site.
Extensive landscaping to the external areas completed the project.
The client had strong ideas about design and the feel he wanted for his home. It was Emerson Willis’ job to ensure that these ideas were brought to fruition and the home of his dreams created.
